Advising

Please contact the Undergraduate Student Advisor if you wish to declare a major, minor, or honours in English. If you need help with other undergraduate student matters, please feel free to reach out by emailing engladv@sfu.ca.

Advising Hours

AdvisorLink: If you have been officially approved into one of our English programs (major, minor, extended minor, certificate), you may login to Advisor Link with your SFU ID and password to book an appointment. Watch the video tutorial to get started!

For graduation checks, please book a time on Advisor Link. If you need a graduation check and cannot book on AdvisorLink, please email engladv@sfu.ca to book a time.

Drop-in times: These drop-in times are mostly for quick questions, enrolment issues, or students looking to declare an English program, however if a declared major or minor attend drop-in times, they will be helped.

Please note: The Undergraduate Student Advisor works remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays. She is not available on weekends, or statutory holidays.

To ensure we have sufficient time to discuss your academic goals, review degree requirements and develop a thoughtful course plan, please contact an advisor well before enrolment begins or well before the start of term. We strongly encourage students not to wait until the last minute to seek advising.
