Natasha Patterson (she/her)

Term Lecturer

ndp@sfu.ca

Natasha has been teaching in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies as a Lecturer (Limited Term) since fall 2019. Prior to that, she was a Lecturer (LT) in Gender and Women's Studies as the University of Lethbridge (Alberta). Natasha's primary teaching interests are in the broad area of gender and media. She has taught courses on gender and pop culture, celebrity culture, gender and reality TV, and representations of race and gender on television. Natasha's classrooms emphasize student-centered learning and she has consistently received positive feedback from students who note that they feel supported and respected in her classes, and enjoy the facilitation of class discussion. Natasha loves working with GSWS students and is constantly impressed with her students' passion and appetite for feminist media critique in its various forms!

When not teaching, Natasha is probably catching up on pop culture and TV, reading for fun, connecting with loved ones, or getting outside in nature.
