The Indigenous Student Centre supports Indigenous learners through community, cultural connection, academic success, and wholistic well-being. Many people ask how they can help.
The donation options below outline meaningful ways to directly support students.
To the First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association (FNMISA)
Financial donations contribute directly to awards, bursaries, and scholarships that are essential to promoting and strengthening Indigenous student success.
Select one of the following three fund options:
- First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association Award Endowment
- First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association Bursary Endowment
- First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association Scholarship Endowment
To the Indigenous University Preparation Program (IUPP)
Donations to the IUPP can also be made through the SFU Giving page.
Select “Indigenous University Preparation Program (IUPP) Special Purposes” from the fund options.
Gift cards help support Indigenous students with food security, transportation, and daily living needs.
Most helpful card types:
- Grocery: The Gift of Choice (President’s Choice), Save-On-Foods, Walmart, Nesters Market
- Gas: Petro-Canada, Chevron, Shell, Esso, etc.
- General essentials: The Gift of Choice (President’s Choice), Walmart

Physical cards can be delivered to the Indiegnous Student Centre, AQ 3144 to the attention of: Treena Chambers treenac@sfu.ca.
The ISC Food Pantry offers food security supports and resources for students in need.
We accept items such as:
- Personal Hygiene items: deodorant, dental care items, menstation products, chapstick, hand sanitizer, etc.
- Non-perishable foods: canned soups, sauces, pasta, rice, granola bars, protein bars and drinks, fruit cups, etc.
Drop-off in ISC AQ 3144
The ISC Cousins’ Closet provides students with free clothing for school, work placements, ceremonies, and daily life.
We accept a variety of items including: gently used clothing, footwear, jackets, professional wear, winter clothing, accessories, new socks and underwear.

Some students do not have access to reliable technology. Donated devices help support online learning, coursework, and job searching.
We will accept laptops, Macbooks, tablets, and appreciate chargers when possible.
