Biography

Peter V. Hall is a professor in the Urban Studies Program at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, where he teaches economic development, transportation geography and research methods. He has served as Associate Dean and Dean pro tem of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He received his doctorate in city and regional planning from the University of California at Berkeley and previously worked in local government in Durban, South Africa. His research examines the connections between port cities, seaports and logistics, as well as community, local economic and employment development. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Transport Geography.
