$10 a Day ChildCareBC program

Key aspects of the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program

  • Affordability: The program significantly reduces the cost of childcare for families, with a fee of $10 per day.
  • Eligibility: As a large, licensed non-profit, SFUCCS is currently eligible to participate in this program. Our agreements run on a 2-year cycle and are reviewed before the end of each contract. Our current contract is in place until October 2026.

Participation in this program, including the fee reduction, will only remain in place if the BC Government continues to support this program and/or SFUCCS is able to maintain our childcare provision with the funding model offered in the contract.

Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB)

In addition to the $10 a Day ChildcareBC program, SFUCCS also participates in the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB), which can also help eligible families with further reduction in childcare fees.

What is the Affordable Child Care Benefit?

The Affordable Child Care Benefit is a monthly payment to help eligible families with the cost of childcare. Factors like income, family size, and type of care determine how much support families may receive. Eligible families need to renew their applications each year.
