Pappas & Presnyakova headed for Cascadia Workshop

Dr. Panayiotis Pappas and PhD candidate Irina Presnyakova will be presenting at the 3rd annual Cascadia Workshop in Sociolinguistics April 13-14, at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Pappas will be speaking on variation in the usage of the imperfective in the Greek of Greek-Canadians, from a collaboration with A. Ralli and S. Tsolakidis from the University of Patras. Irina will be discussing the use of NVivo to explore ethnic orientation of second generation speakers in Vancouver, part of her dissertation work on participation of second generation immigrants in the Canadian vowel shift and raising.
