Our Linguistics graduate students are a culturally diverse group of students with a wide variety of backgrounds and research interests working on their MA and PhD studies in Linguistics at SFU. There are many ways to get involved, and stay involved, in the department and in Graduate Studies at SFU, including the Linguistics Graduate Student Association, the Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU), and the Graduate Student Society.

Graduate Regulations

All Linguistics graduate students are provided with the Department of Linguistics General Guidelines for Graduate Students upon acceptance and should refer to the Guidelines throughout their program.

PhD students refer to the Regulations for Qualifying Papers (QPs).

All graduate students should be familiar with and refer to the Graduate General Regulations as per the SFU calendar.

International graduate students contact Student Services, International Student Advising for issues particular to international student regulations.
