Biography

Mariana is a member of the ΔE+ as a Visiting Research Student. She is undertaking a master's degree at the University of Costa Rica in the School of Electrical Engineering. Mariana acknowledges that science modelling can provide an analytical ground for a coherent and cohesive strategy for sustainable policymaking. Her research focuses on linking the UN SDGs to a Climate, Land, Energy and Water model in Costa Rica to identify and quantify the trade-offs and synergies that may exist in the simultaneous pursuit of policy goals in each sector. With her research, she aims to address if, in addition to decarbonization, the country will comply with the 2030 Agenda.
