Equity Essentials: Self, Power and Privilege
Whether you're a physician, nurse, social worker or administrator, you have a unique opportunity to contribute to equitable healthcare and, ultimately, improved experiences and outcomes for patients and providers alike. But how do you get started? In this course, you'll learn practical terminology and concepts, and begin to apply strategies for improving equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in your healthcare workplace. You'll explore your own social location, become aware of different kinds of power, and consider how to use your privilege to the advantage of others. You'll leave with tools for fostering an inclusive environment where diverse workers and patients can feel they belong.
