Equity in Healthcare

Stephanie Glick (she/her) is a senior advisor of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at Provincial Health Services Authority. She has a PhD in educational studies from the University of British Columbia. Stephanie’s teaching and research focus—in part—on anti-racism, anti-oppression and decoloniality as forms of violence prevention. She often integrates mindfulness practices into her DEI work to help participants calm their nervous systems and cultivate curious self-reflection.

Stephanie is a double settler of the U.S. (where she grew up) and Canada. She has worked with medical leadership teams, doctors and staff in healthcare settings in the southern U.S. She also developed and facilitated an arts-based meditation program for cancer survivors and their caregivers at the Novant Health Cancer Institute, Buddy Kemp Support Center, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lastly, she managed a trauma-informed runaway and homeless youth shelter outside of Portland, Oregon, where she educated staff on the social determinants of health.

Stephanie loves spending time in Coast Salish forests, travelling, taking in good films, and exquisite food. She is forever grateful to live and learn on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations.
