About Us

As part of the Lifelong Learning unit at Simon Fraser University, SFU Continuing Studies offers flexible education for personal and professional development. We deliver hundreds of non-credit courses and more than two dozen programs to help you fulfill career goals, build and support sustainable communities, and find personal enrichment.

Our classes are designed with your busy schedule in mind. Most take place online or in the evenings and on weekends at our downtown Vancouver and Surrey campuses.

Since 1971, we have reached thousands of students of all ages from around the world. Among our earliest offerings, the Liberal Arts and 55+ program has attracted lifelong learners since 1974, and the Interpretation and Translation program since 1985. In 1993, the award-winning City Program began educating students on timely urban issues, and in 2001 we founded the Writer's Studio to help emerging writers learn and practise their craft.

Throughout the year, we also offer a wide variety of public events open to everyone, whether or not you’re a student. We hope you’ll join us.
