Cindy Kit-Yee Cheng has been an instructor in Simon Fraser University’s Interpretation and Translation Program since 2011 and serves as a member of the program’s advisory committee. Her strengths in coaching, supervision and facilitation, together with her solid understanding of translation, interpretation and communication skills, as well as market trends, enable her to coach individuals at different levels to set and attain their career goals.

She has extensive experience in the translation industry in different capacities, including as a project manager, translator, interpreter, editor, researcher and proofreader. She works for diverse clients in North America and Asia, such as book publishers, website developers, professional associations, universities and colleges, as well as public and non-profit agencies. Her work covers a wide range of print and electronic materials, ranging from brochures, pamphlets, books and manuals to social media.

Cindy has a master’s degree in language and law and is well versed in communication, research, strategic planning and marketing. She also specializes in human resources, project management and business planning and administration for both non-profit and public organizations, developing programs and services to improve productivity, team effectiveness and organizational success.
