Hande Gurses

Hande Gurses holds a PhD in literary studies from University College London. She is a scholar of comparative literature originally from Istanbul. Her personal experience of displacement informs her research, which focuses on cosmopolitanism, representation of identities and ecocriticism in contemporary world literature. She held positions at University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University and Simon Fraser University. Currently she is an instructor in Capilano University’s English Department.
