Sam Stephens is a well-rounded security and risk management professional, with experience developing risk, compliance and security programs at multiple complex organizations over the past 18 years in the industry. Currently, he is a director within Safety and Risk Services at the University of British Columbia, responsible for public safety, operational service delivery and security risk management. 

Sam has diverse experience in enterprise compliance, security, business continuity, project management and risk management and is further supported by a bachelor of economics from SFU, a master of enterprise risk management from Boston University, and multiple industry designations.   

He is passionate about continued development, volunteering and continuing to explore how risk can be used to support and influence decision-making.
