Summer 2019 Public Dialogue Photos
As the unaffordability of living in Vancouver pushes youth and lower income folks out of Vancouver, it becomes important to ask: Will Vancouver become a city without youth?
Hosted by the SFU Semester in Dialogue: Housing Futures, this public dialogue explored solutions to the housing crisis through a youth perspective. Our students spent seven weeks exploring the complexities of the housing crisis and shared the opportunities for change that they have identified through their research and dialogue with various thought leaders.
Using the cities of Berlin, Montreal, Vienna, and Hong Kong as case studies, the cohort identified various policy recommendations to engage the public in a solutions-focused housing conversation.
Through the final public dialogue, the cohort created a space for positive and thoughtful conversations about the potential for change and progress for the future of housing in Vancouver.
Thank you to everyone who came and helped make the event a success, and thank you to the amazing speakers and the Semester students and faculty who organized this dialogue.
