Tenure-track Positions

SFU Linguistics is currently inviting applications for one tenure-track faculty position in computational linguistics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The academic appointment will be a full-time position in the Department of Linguistics, and will be affiliated with the Social Data Analytics Program (SDA). Sessional Instructor Positions

We are inviting applications for a Sessional Instructor position for Spring 2025. The course is Phonetics (LING 330). Please refer to the job description document for details. Download the application form and submit by Friday, November 1st at 11:59pm.

Teaching Assistant Positions

SFU Linguistics is not currently seeking to fill a TA position. Please refer back to this page at a later date for future openings.

Timeline for Sessional Instructor postings

Fall Term beginning September: Postings available late April/early May
Spring Term beginning January: Postings available late August/early Sept
Summer Term beginning May: Postings available late December/early January

Summer Term beginning May: Postings available early March

In hiring Teaching Assistants, departments give priority to applicants in the following order:
(i) Graduate students registered in the department
(ii) Graduate students registered in other departments
(iii) Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTA) or External Teaching Assistants (ETA)
