Theatre and Performance
SFU's School for the Contemporary Arts offers a Major, a Minor, and an Extended Minor in Theatre and Performance. Students will take courses in acting, movement, performance creation, site-specific show making, and social practice/working with the public. In their fourth year, students focus their training and individual interests to envision, create, and produce a capstone/thesis project. Students will spend two full semesters developing an area of research, conducting in-studio experiments, developing drafts, and fully producing individual works for an annual public festival called Live Acts. Throughout their time in our program, students will also be invited to engage and even participate in the work of theatre companies in the Lower Mainland via our workplace programs.
