Career Topics We Cover

We offer flexible and inclusive support across all career‑related topics, helping you bring targeted, impactful career learning directly into your course, program, or event.

Exploring career possibilities

Where can my degree lead me?
Help students discover the wide range of paths their education can open. We support academic programs and student groups by guiding learners through career exploration—connecting their strengths, interests, and discipline‑specific skills to real‑world opportunities. Sessions can be tailored to your program, featuring labour‑market insights, alumni examples, and practical frameworks to help students envision what’s possible.

Resumes, CVs, and Cover Letters

Showcasing skills with clarity and impact
We help students create polished application materials that highlight their academic experiences, transferable skills, and professional strengths. Workshops and presentations cover how to tailor documents for specific industries, write compelling accomplishment statements, and communicate learning from coursework, research, volunteering, and extracurriculars.

Interview Preparation

Build confidence and communicate your story
We offer interactive sessions focused on common interview formats, effective storytelling techniques (e.g., STAR method), how to highlight program‑based skills, and how to prepare for technical or behavioural questions. Mock interview practice can also be arranged for classes or student groups.

Job Search Strategies

Tools, tactics, and strategies for navigating opportunities
Finding the right job or experiential opportunity requires more than browsing postings. Our sessions teach students how to conduct strategic job searches, identify sources of hidden opportunities, manage application workflow, interpret job descriptions, and leverage career resources available at the university.

Building Connections & Networking

Professional relationships that support career growth
We help students understand that networking isn’t about “selling yourself”—it’s about curiosity, connection, and community. Workshops cover how to reach out to professionals, conduct informational interviews, build authentic relationships, and tap into alumni networks.

Leveraging LinkedIn

Create a powerful digital presence
We teach students how to use LinkedIn strategically—researching careers, expanding their network, finding opportunities, and engaging with content that supports their goals. Students learn how to build strong profiles that reflect their academic journey, skills, and emerging professional identity.

Portfolio Building

Showcase your work, projects, and creativity
Portfolios allow students to demonstrate learning in ways a resume can’t. We offer guidance on how to curate samples from coursework, research, design projects, writing assignments, case competitions, and more. Sessions can cover structure, storytelling, platform options, and how to tailor a portfolio for specific fields (e.g., design, communications, tech, research, teaching).

Gaining Experience

Explore opportunities to build skills and resume-building experience
Students can grow their capabilities through hands‑on experiences that complement their academic learning. We provide guidance on finding and engaging in internships, part‑time jobs, research roles, co‑ops, campus involvement, and experiential learning opportunities. Sessions can cover how to identify relevant experiences, reflect on transferable skills, and make the most of each opportunity to support future career goals.

Volunteering

Develop skills while contributing to your community
Volunteering gives students the chance to build skills, explore their interests, and contribute to causes that matter to them. We help students understand how volunteer experiences can support their personal and professional growth, identify meaningful opportunities, and use volunteering as a pathway for career development. Sessions can highlight local organizations, on‑campus roles, and practical strategies for connecting volunteer experiences to academic learning and future career goals.

Career Building for Changemakers

Pursue pathways that create positive impact
Students interested in social impact careers can explore a wide range of roles focused on advocacy, sustainability, equity, community development, and global change. We offer insights into sectors driving social good, help students identify transferable skills, and provide tools for navigating purpose‑driven career paths. Sessions can feature impact‑focused job search strategies, examples of changemaker roles, and ways to get involved through projects, activism, and community partnerships.
