ISostage

IsoStage is a novel fitness device invented by SFU BPK alumnus, Alisa Berger. Her vision is to popularize overcoming isometrics - a method of strength training wherein force is exerted against an immovable barbell, allowing (up to) one's maximal force production capacity and 100% muscle fiber recruitment, safely. Between studying kinesiology and going to the gym out of personal interest, Alisa realized that this training method is very rarely taken advantage of, in part due to lack of equipment. "Wouldn't it be great if gyms had a device specifically for this" she thought, then set out to do just that.

IsoStage stands out as a high-tech device which provides the user with real-time force feedback and guidance through full workout programs, which are designed with exercise science principles in mind. It is the first device of its kind, looking to make headway in the fitness equipment/gym market in the near future.
