Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) – Alternative Energy Conversion Systems
The School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering (MSE) at Simon Fraser University (SFU) invites applications for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Alternative Energy Conversion Systems. The individual will have a broad perspective of analysis, design, and testing emerging materials and advanced energy conversion systems including fuel cell technologies, battery systems, cooling systems, and energy storage. This is an appointment at the Full Professor level with tenure, with a home appointment in MSE. We are seeking a chairholder with a prominent international profile and an excellent record of research achievements, publication, grants acquisition, as well as teaching and training of highly qualified personnel (HQP). The successful candidate will also have a track-record of national and international collaboration. SFU also recognizes the value of mentoring, professional service, and nontraditional areas of research and research outputs. Demonstrated experience in increasing diversity in the institutional environment is also an asset.
In coordination with the MSE and SFU’s Strategic Research Plan, the successful applicant will immediately prepare a research program proposal compliant with CRC requirements. This proposal, and applicant qualifications, will be vetted by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat. The CRC position is tenable for seven years.
This position is limited to current tenured faculty members at SFU.
