Delta (Conference) Hotel

For CAG 2015 we have reserved a block of rooms at the Delta  Hotel in downtown Vancouver for four nights between June 1-5 2015. Delta is offering rooms at $219 plus taxes (16.304%) (and Signature Club suites for $50 more).  Two people can share a room for this price and a third can be added for an extra $30. (Children under 18 are free, if with parents).  At this price you can stay a couple of extra days, before or after CAG 215.

Reservations can be made on-line here

Alternatively, reservations can be made at either 604.689.8188  or 1.888.890.3222 or at; vancouversuites@deltahotels.com   When calling please refer to CAG 2015 to ensure the group rate and a room in the guest suite block.

Given Delta’s quality and location, this deal is excellent.  Delta is located immediately adjacent to the conference centres (Harbour Centre and the Wosk Centre for Dialogue), and one block from Waterfront Station, the major terminus for the Skytrain, Canada Line, buses, and the (North Shore) Seabus. The Canada Line provides frequent (every 10-15 minutes), fast (26 minutes) and cheap (around $8) connections to the airport, and there is no need to take a taxi.  Apart from the hotel itself, food and drink are readily available in the immediate vicinity including, for the early risers, a Tim Horton’s (opens at 5.00 am) and the Seabus stores.  Restaurants, coffee stores and micro-brewery pubs are ‘right there’. Going west, Canada Place, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park are within easy walking reach as are Gas Town and China Town going east. Hotel Vancouver, Robson Square and the Vancouver Art Gallery are four blocks south. Fitness buffs can enjoy the 24 hour gym at the Delta or jog along a 22 km seawall past Canada Place along the waterfront of Coal Harbour (part of the CPR land grant) and its new delux hotels and around Stanley Park (encircled by 9 kms of the seawall).

Note that Vancouver hotels expect to be very busy next summer and booking early is recommended. Information on other hotels will be provided in due course.  If you have any particular accommodation concerns please let me know.
