On-campus Professional Events Network (OPEN)


The On-campus Professional Events Network (OPEN) connects SFU staff, faculty and students who plan events, with event planning resources and opportunities for networking and development. 

Ceremonies and Events will host bi-annual OPEN meetings. Additional gatherings may be arranged as requested. Programs at these gatherings will include a range of offerings from guest speakers and workshops to sharing practical tips and information to help new event planners and provide inspiration to event veterans. We encourage OPEN members to share their ideas for future sessions.

The Ceremonies and Events Leadership Team oversees OPEN’s operations and direction.

SFU Ceremonies and Events will be hosting weekly OPEN meetings on Zoom to provide SFU event planners with updates and an opportunity to share resources, answer questions and connect with our colleagues as we adjust to a new way of working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
