Following her win in the FASS Three Minute Thesis heat, Linguistics PhD student Emma Mileva competed in the 3MT finals on March 9, 2015.

Emma's linguistic interests cover a variety of topics – sociolinguistics, medical and psychotherapy discourse, computer-mediated communication and brainstorming, Balkan Sprachbund, and psycholinguistics, among others.

A PhD SSHRC award holder, she currently explores new forms of medical communication for her dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Panayiotis Pappas and Dr. Maite Taboada.
