Office Hours

Thank you for reaching out to the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL)! Our physical office is currently closed, but we continue to serve the community via virtual means.

Staff at the Centre are actively monitoring email ( and voicemail (778-782-3112) on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please note that phone calls will be returned using a private number.

NEW THIS SPRING: The CAL is pleased to announce that we have added a virtual front desk via Zoom for the Spring 2021 term. No appointment is necessary, and you can connect directly and confidentially to the CAL front desk staff, who are available to offer general guidance and arrange further appointments where needed. Front desk staff are available on the following dates and times to meet with you on a first-come first-served basis:

The Director is responsible for the management of the Centre for Accessible Learning. He is responsible for policy development and acts as the university representative on matters relating to students with disabilities to government, post-secondary institutions, agencies and professional organizations.

The receptionist provides secretarial support services for the Centre for Accessible Learning, handles the bulk of our correspondence and is responsible for maintaining our records. Our receptionist is the first contact for most students, staff and faculty.

Disabilities Services Officer

The Disabilities Services Officers are responsible for implementing academic accommodations for students with disabilities. The Disabilities Services Officers also supervise the examination process, works with other departments to arrange for academic and resource assistance, consults with faculty and government officials regarding services and adaptive equipment, and makes arrangements for specialized assistants for students with disabilities.

Disabilities Access Advisor

The Disability Access Advisors are responsible for reviewing and verifying all student documentation and determining which academic accommodations are appropriate for each student. Disability Access Advisors also provide faculty with recommendations to assist with the implementation of accommodations and services. The Disability Access Advisors work with students to provide learning skills support and provide advice on disability related issues.
