Guided by ancestral teachings, IGSS 2019 encourages dialogue on Indigeneity in the academy through: 1) Reclamation - language, stories, history, place and partnerships, 2) Restoration – social justice, education, policies, recognition and Indigenization, and 3) Resurgence - research, traditional knowledge, cultural identity, resistance and socio-ecological responsibility.  Learning is encouraged through reciprocal discourse focusing on knowing, being and doing ‘in a good way’.
