Sonia Lachar

Sonia Lachar is a senior HR professional with 18 years of labour and employee relations experience in municipal, healthcare, education, public and private sectors. Sonia is currently working at British Columbia Public Sector Employers Association (BCPSEA) as the senior director of labour relations and she brings a unique skill set to her teaching, as she previously did labour relations work for the British Columbia Nurses Union (BCNU), allowing her to understand perspectives from the education and healthcare industries.

Sonia has taught labour relations and human resources at the post-secondary level and is passionate about teaching and sharing her experiences. She also believes in lifelong learning and is always taking courses to stay up to date with relevant topics. Sonia also holds a master’s of industrial relations from Queens University. In addition, she also has a bachelor’s of business administration, human resources certificate, executive coaching certificate and achieved a CPHR designation.
