Creative Writing

As the program facilitator for the Writer's Studio program beginning September 2022, Tamara supports and works with our students as they progress through the course modules and live sessions in the program. 

Tamara Jong (she/her) is a Montreal-born mixed-race writer/cartoonist of Chinese and European ancestry. Her work has appeared in Anomaly, Carte Blanche, Room Magazine, The New Quarterly, Invisible Publishing and Body & Soul; Stories for Skeptics and Seekers.

She is a graduate of the Writer's Studio at Simon Fraser University and was a teaching assistant for the 2018-2019 narrative non-fiction cohort led by Claudia Cornwall. She is a part of Room magazine’s collective and is working on a memoir.

She currently lives and works on Treaty 3 territory, the occupied and ancestral lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki, Attiwonderonk, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (Guelph, Ont.).
