Our scholarships are made possible through the ideas, donations and fundraising of the Writer’s Studio community.
Writing Mom Scholarship
Value: $2,000
The Writing Mom’s Scholarship was created to support caregivers with young children who would like to pursue their writing. This award is open to mothers who are caring for children under the age of eighteen. The award is trans inclusive.
To apply for the award, attach a letter to your application telling us about:
- Your current caregiving situation
- Your current writing practice and activities (if not already discussed in your application cover letter)
- What you would like to focus on during your year at TWS
- How the scholarship will help you
Emerging Writer Scholarship
Value: $2,000
Created originally from the proceeds from the sales of emerge, the Writer’s Studio annual anthology, the emerging writer scholarship is open to all applicants to the Studio.
To apply for the award, attach a letter to your application telling us about:
- Your current writing practice and activities (if not already discussed in your application cover letter)
- What you would like to focus on during your year at TWS
- How the scholarship will help you
