How it works
After you've confirmed your attendance on goSFU and rented your regalia through Gaspard, learn how to plan for your day so you can make the most of your convocation.
TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING
We advise you to arrive early, car pool or take public transit.
Complimentary parking is available in the North Lot for graduands and guests. Accessible parking is available in the Central Parkade located under Convocation Mall (there is an elevator in the Maggie Benston Centre).
Follow the directions on convocation signage and traffic control staff will direct you to the convocation parking areas on campus.
Guest ticket registration
Graduands are invited to register up to two guests to attend in-person. Guest tickets are non-transferrable and are guaranteed if you register before the May 26, 11:59 p.m. (PT).
Arrive on campus and go to the AQ 3000 Northeast corner (near Renaissance Coffee Shop) between:
- 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. for a morning ceremony
- 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. for an afternoon ceremony
Next, follow these 8 steps:
Step 1. Parchment pick-up
Student ID or a valid government-issued picture ID is required to pick up your parchment.
Step 2. Regalia pick up
A free coat check available for graduands.
Step 4. Line up for procession
Convocation procession line-up will start at 9:00 a.m. for a morning ceremony and 1:45 p.m. for an afternoon ceremony. The processions will begin at 9:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
Step 5. Ceremony seating in Convocation Mall
Ushers will guide graduands into Convocation Mall and into their seats.
Step 6. Get photo taken by Artona
Artona will take your professional graduation photo.
Step 7. Cross the stage
Smile! Artona will take a 2nd photo as you cross the stage.
Flip tassel to right before exiting stage.
Step 8. Return regalia
Return your regalia to the "Regalia Return" on the AQ 3000 North level. Bachelor's and Master's degree graduates can keep your cap as a keepsake!
