Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada - Post-Graduate Research Fellowship
Amount:
40,000 CAD for Master’s graduates and 42,000 CAD for PhD graduates for a one-year non-renewable term
A relocation amount of up to 1,000 CAD will be given to cover the moving expenses for out-of-town recipients

General: have a background in Asia-related research in a variety of fields
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will have a background in Asia-related research in a variety of fields, including (but not limited to) social sciences, humanities, business, education, statistics, and natural sciences, and will be based on excellence and fit with the Foundation’s research priorities (energy and the environment; trade and investment; education; and sub-national relations with Asia.) Grants are not intended to support dissertation research.
Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have graduated from a Master’s or doctoral program within 18 months of the application (as defined by the date of the graduation ceremony).
Details:
Post-Graduate Research Fellows are based in the APF’s Vancouver office. In addition to composing a research project, Fellows are expected to participate in the Foundation’s day-to-day activities.
Fellowships run for 12 months and normally begin between July and September. In special circumstances, Fellows will be able to start at a later date.
During their time at the Foundation, Post-Graduate Research Fellows undertake a guided research project with a view to producing a policy paper of 5,000-8,000 words on a mutually-agreed upon topic.

Eligibility:
Must be Canadian citizens, in good health, whose residence is in the Province of British Columbia.
Must have a master’s degree and be under an age of 40.
Details:
The Chinese government offers scholarships to students from British Columbia to study at a Chinese university for a doctoral degree.
The duration of the master degree program is from 3 to 4 years.
Full and partial-scholarships are available annually.

Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) - 1989 Ecole Polytechnique Commemorative Awards

Details:
There is 1 award of 5,000 CAD for master’s study, and 1 award of 7,000 CAD for doctoral level study.

General: must be a female masters or doctoral student studying in the area of the Humanities
Eligibility:
Awarded to a female masters or doctoral student studying in the area of the Humanities. Generally, study in the Humanities is theoretical and does not involve empirical methodology.
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Details:
The Humanities could include the following: English Language and Literature, History, Languages Study, Classics, Philosophy, Film Studies, Communication Studies, and Culture Studies.

Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) - Canadian Home Economics Association (CHEA) Fellowship

Eligibility:
Awarded to a female candidate studying one or more aspects in the field of Human Ecology/ Home Economics/ Family and Consumer Sciences at the masters or doctoral level.
The applicant must be accepted or enrolled in a post-graduate program in Canada at the time of application.
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Details:
Areas of study include: human nutrition, food science, housing/ shelter and aesthetics, architecture, financial resource management, clothing and textiles, family relations, human sexuality, and human development.

Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) - Dr Alice E. Wilson Awards

Eligibility:
Awarded to female mature students returning to graduate studies in any field, with special consideration given to those returning to study after at least 3 years.

General: enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s-level program
Eligibility:
Canadian citizens or permanent residents. International students with an off-campus work permit will be considered in some cases.
Available to work at the Foundation’s Vancouver or Toronto offices.
Enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s-level program. Recent graduates may also apply as long as they have completed their degree programs no later than 12 months prior to the application deadline.
Details:
During their terms, Junior Research Fellows work at the Foundation’s Vancouver or Toronto office, and complete a program of research and other work related to one of the Foundation’s broad thematic areas (trade and investment; energy and the environment; provincial-level engagement of Asia; and international education). The required qualifications, as well as the length of the grant period, will vary with each grant opportunity.
Junior Research Fellows will work under the mentorship of one or more of the Foundation’s program or project managers, and will engage in primarily activities such as working as a part of one of the Foundation’s research teams, and developing one or more short analytical essays related to that same thematic area.
