Eligibility:
- Must be a citizen of any country outside the UK.
- Must be applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of Cambridge: (1) PhD (3 year research-only degree); (2) MSc or MLitt (2 year research-only degree); (3) one year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA, etc.).
Details:
- Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
- The ideal candidate demonstrates academic excellence, leadership potential, a commitment to improving the lives of others, and a good academic fit with Cambridge.
- For PhD students who meet unforeseen circumstances and are unable to complete in three years, some fourth year funding may be provided.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Taiwan Scholarship
Amount:
- A monthly stipend of 25,000 TWD (1,070 CAD, amounts to 12,840 CAD/year) for the LEP and 30,000 TWD (1,290 CAD/month, amounts to 15,480 CAD/year) for degree programs

Requirements:
Citizenship: Non-Taiwanese
General: eligible for applying for Mandarin Language Enrichment Program or a degree program
Eligibility:
- Must be a high school graduate or above with an excellent academic record, of good moral character and has no criminal record.
- Must be neither a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student.
- Must have never attended an educational institution in Taiwan at the same level of degree or LEP that he/she intends to apply for.
- Must be not an exchange student through any cooperation agreement between a foreign university/college and an educational institute in Taiwan while receiving the Scholarship.
Details:
- The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship encourages outstanding students to pursue academic degrees in Taiwan.
- Applicants can apply for either the non-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Program (LEP) (Recipients may take the LEP for a maximum of one year at Mandarin-teaching institutions affiliated with a university or college accredited by the Ministry of Education) or a degree program (an undergraduate, master or doctoral degree, excluding in-service programs).
- The duration can be one year (for non-degree LEP), two years maximum (for Master’s program), or four years maximum (for undergraduate or doctoral program).

- The International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) works with prestigious universities in Taiwan to select students to receive full scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate programs taught in English.

Cultivating the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Grants
Amount:
- Depending on the project, ranging from 2,000 USD to 12,000 USD.

Eligibility:
- Scholars from low- and lower middle-income countries of Southeast Asia and South Asia. When evaluating proposals from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and India, the review committee will prioritize applicants who come from regions and/or institutions with resource and infrastructure constraints.
- Individual and Collaborative projects.
- Scholars, students, independent researchers, and public intellectuals, who are based in low- and lower medium-income countries as well as those who come from and may be living in post-conflict areas or areas where conflicts are still ongoing.
- Both AAS and non-AAS members.
Details:
- The proposed short- and long-term research grants will support academic projects that advance the fields of the humanities and the social sciences in under-represented regions of Asia. In the humanities, they may include research focused on history, philosophy, religion, languages, literature, and fine and performing arts. In the social sciences, they include − but are not limited to − the disciplines of anthropology, archaeology, economics, geography, law, politics, psychology, sociology, etc.
- Grant program encourages individual and group projects (such as those bringing senior and junior scholars together) that will explore the mainstreamed subjects of:
- Development
- Democracy
- Human Rights
- Gender
- The Environment
- Forest Conservation in the Philippines
- These themes may be researched on their own, or, in combination with one another, or in ways that cut across the humanities and social sciences.
- The program also welcomes proposals for special initiatives aimed at the recording, preservation, and dissemination of endangered languages, oral histories, and traditional knowledge. Funding may be used for:
- Research essential for postdoctoral scholars and Ph.D. and master’s students’ thesis, dissertation, and/or book projects.
- For manuscript revisions and journal articles in the humanities and social sciences,
- Small scholarly seminars and pedagogical workshops.
- Translation.
- Curriculum development.
- Textbooks projects that facilitate the dissemination and implementation of the research results.
- Documentary films and visual arts projects.
