HISTORY COURSE ARCHIVE - SUMMER 2019

Using the library’s subscription to Mass Observation Online, this seminar introduces students to historical research. Our focus is narrow: eight years of change in British society from 1938 to 1946 but our net is wide. We will work with a range of contemporary sources: diaries and newspapers, publications and posters, maps and photographs, documentary films and historical objects with the aim of learning how historians pursue historical questions. This course qualifies as a Breadth-Humanities / Social Sciences credit.
