Linguistics Department Writing Support
We offer one-on-one consultations for academic writing via Zoom. This service is open to any student enrolled in LING 282W and any 300 or 400 level course in Linguistics. We are here to discuss any aspect of the writing process. This includes planning, discussing your thesis, argumentation, paper and paragraph structure, punctuation, and grammar.
How to Sign Up for a Tutoring Session
- Send your draft to a tutor
See the list of tutors below. When you contact a tutor for help, send them the draft that you would like to work on and include the specific questions that you want the tutor to address and/or the section(s) the tutor should focus on.
- Sign up for an appointment
The tutor will offer you some options for a meeting via Zoom. Choose the one that works best for you and that you are certain that you can attend.
- Attend your appointment
Shortly before your scheduled appointment time, click on the zoom link to access your meeting. You will be directed to a virtual waiting room and your tutor will admit you to the meeting at the time of your appointment.
If you cannot attend your appointment, please notify the tutor at least 4 hours in advance.
Note that a no-show will result in NOT earning RPS credits.
