2027 Intake Cycle Updates

1.  Changes to Admissions Requirements

New for 2027 Intake and Onwards:

MCAT

For applicants applying through the GPA + MCAT or MCAT-only pathways, if the MCAT has been written more than once, the highest score from the first two valid attempts completed within the past five years will be used. Scores from subsequent attempts will not be considered.

Indigenous Studies Pre-requisite Course

Applicants applying through the GPA or GPA & MCAT pathways may complete the Indigenous content prerequisite either within the undergraduate degree used to calculate the Adjusted GPA or on a separate transcript completed outside that degree.

If the course is completed within the degree, it will count toward the 60 units used to calculate the Adjusted GPA. If completed outside the degree, it will not be included in the Adjusted GPA.

Note:

• Life Sciences and Humanities/Social Science prerequisite courses must still be completed within the undergraduate degree used to calculate the Adjusted GPA.
• Applicants applying through the MCAT pathway may still complete all prerequisite courses across any combination of transcripts.

* The Admissions webpage and the Applicant Manual will be updated to reflect these changes in May and June respectively. 

2.  Application Timeline

For the August 2027 intake, the application cycle will open in July 2026 and close in October 2026, aligning with medical school application cycles across Canada.
