FAMILY MEDICINE PROGRAM
Program Information
The Family Medicine (FM) Residency Program is a two-year, community-focused training program designed to prepare residents for comprehensive, patient-centered family practice in diverse and growing communities across British Columbia.
The program will welcome its inaugural cohort of 12 residents in 2027.

Training will be delivered through a single Program Site, Fraser South, which encompasses three distinct training streams:
- Surrey–North Delta
- Langley
- White Rock–South Surrey
Residents will select their preferred training stream as part of the residency match process, allowing them to align their training experience with their learning interests, community connections, and future practice aspirations.
Each stream provides a rich community-based learning environment while maintaining a shared commitment to excellence in clinical education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and comprehensive family medicine training. Through longitudinal relationships with patients, preceptors, healthcare teams, and communities, residents will develop the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to provide high-quality care across the full scope of family medicine practice.
How to Apply
All applications are processed through CaRMS and must be submitted in accordance with CaRMS requirements and timelines. Applicants who are invited to interview will be contacted directly by the University, while all other application-related communications will be available through the CaRMS system.
