Technology Licensing Office (TLO)
SFU’s TLO is focused on delivering intellectual property (IP) protection and technology licensing services and support. TLO supports faculty, graduate students and university researchers in the strategic management of the IP they generate through their inventions. It is a key part of SFU Innovates, the university’s innovation strategy. The office enables a streamlined pathway for SFU tech advances to get out into the world to drive innovation and change.

Community-Engaged Research initiative
Designed around a collaborative research infrastructure, SFU’s Community-Engaged Research Initiative (CERi) promotes principles of participation, cooperation, social transformation, and knowledge translation to lift and strengthen the capacity of SFU’s researchers and students, to engage respectfully and ethically with community organizations, Indigenous Nations, community members, and leadership, including cultural leaders.

ACT - Action on Climate Team
ACT is a state-of-the-art research-to-practice hub for the mobilization of climate change and sustainability knowledge and solutions. ACT works across sectors to mobilize relevant knowledge for practice. Given a global climate crisis, SFU embeds climate action throughout our operations, research, academics and community engagement. ACT is moving action on climate change from scholarship to practice and back to ensure that governments, organizations and individuals have the information they need to urgently address climate change and its global impacts—while transitioning toward sustainability goals.
