How did life begin on Earth and could it exist elsewhere? Simon Fraser University researchers in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Peter Unrau and Razvan Cojocaru have isolated a genetic clue – an enzyme known as an RNA polymerase – that provides new insights about the origins of life. The research was recently published in the journal Science.
