Financial planning

Here are some ways we can help you manage your budget and ensure your costs for studying in Canada are covered.

Financial planning

Our financial planning page is a resource to help you look at all the costs associated with going to university.

The undergraduate cost calculator provides you with an estimate of your expenses per term. Use the calculator as a starting point for managing your financial expectations and as a reference for any next steps you need to take while planning for your studies at SFU.

MyFinances101 is an online financial literacy course that is available for free to SFU students to help you understand your personal finances.

Financial Resources

SFU offers a variety of entrance scholarships for new international students. Some of the scholarships require an application, and others do not—they are awarded automatically to new students who meet the criteria.

We have scholarships, bursaries, and need-based awards for eligible international students. We can also provide documentation so you can arrange for financial assistance through institutions in your home country before coming to Canada.

Paid opportunities

We also have paid work opportunities on campus, including co-op placements and work-study programs that combine learning with paid work experience.
