The Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship application is closed.
The first round of SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships have been awarded, and successful recipients were notified by email. While additional selections will be made in May, no further scholarship offers will be made before the May 1, 2022 deadline to accept admission. We appreciate this means you will have to make your SFU admission decision without a confirmation of a scholarship. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to notify everyone of their status.
SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships - Application Required
SFU recognizes high school students who demonstrate excellence in both their academic and extracurricular activities. The SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship (USES) Program is designed to attract and engage high school students who demonstrate potential to enrich the university community through ongoing academic and community contributions.
Scholarships are available to domestic and international high school students admitted for the fall term to an undergraduate degree in any faculty.
Admission Requirement: Applicants must have grades in the 90% range in courses required for their selected program or 31 IB points (excluding predicted bonus points).
Recipients will be notified from March to May 2022.

Students who applied to residence will receive priority for the Fall term and in subsequent terms if they wish to live in residence
'Front of the line' course enrollment priority
Students have priority access to course enrollment for the duration of their entrance scholarship

Other Entrance Scholarships
Schulich Leader Scholarships
These prestigious entrance scholarships awarded to high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate program at participating universities in Canada and Israel. Recognizing the increasing importance and impact that STEM disciplines will have on the prosperity of future generations, businessman and philanthropist Seymour Schulich established this $100 million scholarship fund in 2012 to encourage our best and brightest students to be the next pioneers of global scientific research and innovation. This program awards 100 scholarships annually, valued at more than $5 million. Schulich Leaders can devote their full time and attention to their studies, as all of their financial needs are covered over the course of their degree. As a result, many of our highest potential students are winning these scholarships and will make great contributions to society.
Students enrolled in a Science, Technology or Mathematics undergraduate degree program:
- Value: $80,000, paid in 4 annual installments
- Citizenship: Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada

Students enrolled in Engineering undergraduate degree program:
- Value: $100,000, paid in 4 annual installments

The Bennett Family Entrance Scholarship
The endowment supporting the Bennett Family Entrance Scholarship was established in 2019 with a generous gift from Jim Bennett. One entrance scholarship will be offered annually in the fall term to students entering SFU from Holy Cross Regional High School (Surrey, BC) with a minimum admission evaluation score of 90% or 31 IB points (excluding predicted bonus points) and are admitted to a Bachelor's degree program in any faculty. Students are selected on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrated exceptional achievements such as contributions to school or community life.

The Lloyd Carr-Harris Entrance Scholarship is offered to an entering high school student of the highest academic standing as a direct admit to the Beedie School of Business.
