SFU Engineering Science Professor Inducted Into Top Tier of Engineers

Congratulations to Simon Fraser University Professor, Council Member of NSERC, and Canada Research Chair Tier 1, Dr. Bozena Kaminska on her induction to the College of Fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).  The honour of induction into the College of Fellows of AIMBE is reserved for the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the nation.
Dr. Kaminska was elected for outstanding technology leadership in microelectronics and nanoscale optics for human benefit in healthcare, security, commerce and art. She is recognized as a prolific creator with some of her inventions including wireless biosensors that detect early signs of heart disease and nanotechnologies that aim to make banknotes virtually impossible to forge.
A formal induction ceremony will be held during AIMBE’s 25th Annual Meeting at the National Academy of Sciences Great Hall in Washington DC on April 4, 2016.
