Girls Learning Code: Intro to Python
GIRLsmarts4tech in partnership with Ladies Learning Code are hosting a new workshop for girls aged 12-17 to learn the fundamentals of programming. By the end of the workshop girls will have learnt what programming is, what Python is used for, how to write and run a Python program and how to read and analyze data in a file. The program is designed for beginners and will be taught in a small 4:1 student to mentor ratio.
Where: UBC Hugh Dempster Pavilion, Room 110, 6245 Agronomy Road, Vancouver
When: Saturday, June 11 10:00AM – 4:00PM
Cost: By Donation; suggested donation is $30
Who: Girls aged 12-17
Space is limited. GIRLsmarts4tech recommends registering by May 20th. Girls must bring their own laptop (and power cord) and lunch to the workshop.
