February 03, 2022

How are remote sensing, ‘Big Data’, and remotely operated vehicles working together to improve our understanding of the Greenland Ice Sheet?
On Thursday, March 2 from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm, come hear Polar researcher Dr. Ginny Catania describe how ‘Big Data’ has helped clarify the role topography plays in defining glacier termini in Greenland and how real observations of moraines at glacier terminus positions are needed to better understand ice sheet change. Impacts of Dr. Catania’s research extend to coastal environments around the world connected by a shared future of sea level rise and a need to better understand the pace and character of coastal change.
