Shawn Sederberg, Ph. D., P. Eng.

Bio: Shawn Sederberg grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon. There, he completed high school with a specialization in Sled Ed (snowmobile repair) and Outdoor Education. He then left the North for the University of Alberta, where he completed both his B. Sc. and Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Photonics and Plasmas, and received the Governor General's Gold Medal for his Ph. D. contributions. From 2014 - 2017, he was a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow in the group of Ferenc Krausz at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany. Subsequently, he was a Research Associate in the group of Paul Corkum at the Unversity of Ottawa and the National Research Council Canada. Since November 2021, he has been an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University.
