Instructor Iva Cheung honoured by Editors Canada

Congratulations to Iva Cheung, who teaches in our Plain Language Certificate program, on receiving the 2019 Karen Virag Award from Editors Canada.
The award, presented to Iva during the annual Editors Canada conference last week, recognizes exceptional efforts by an individual or organization to raise the profile of editing in their community.
In addition to her popular blog, Iva is active on Twitter, where she promotes plain language and clear communication, including advocating for better access to information for Indigenous and marginalized communities.
An experienced professional editor, Iva has previously been honoured with Editors Canada’s Tom Fairley Award for Editorial Excellence and the President’s Award for volunteer excellence.
