Writer’s Studio grad named Governor General’s Award finalist

We’re thrilled to congratulate Ts’msyen writer Kim Spencer, a 2020 graduate of The Writer’s Studio, on her remarkable award streak.
Her debut book, Weird Rules to Follow, was shortlisted for the 2023 Governor General's Literary Award in the young people's literature category. In October, the book also swept the Canadian Children's Book Centre Awards, winning the top prize: the $50,000 TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award.
