Employee and Labour Relations in Canada

Examine employee and labour relations in Canada through a holistic view that bridges the gap between union and non-union environments.

You'll learn to apply employment laws and accommodation legislation to make an informed objective assessment of workplace issues. You'll explore contemporary issues in employee relations and discuss the impact of equity, diversity and inclusion on performance management. You'll also learn to assess organizational risk tolerance and interpret the Canada and B.C. labour codes to identify legal trends.

Core topics include: employment law, collective agreements, grievances and disputes, and risk tolerance.

Note: If you're new to the field of human resources, you should take Human Resources Management in Canada (CHRM200) before taking this course.
