Iman Elmarashly
Iman Elmarashly has a master’s and a PhD in finance from the University of Cambridge, U.K., and possesses unique experience combining professional and academic excellence in finance.
She has progressed in her career as a corporate banker for 16 years, reaching a top executive position at Barclays Bank Egypt as deputy corporate banking director.
At the University of British Columbia, Iman has been teaching about financial institutions, banking and capital markets, introductory finance and corporate finance. She also taught advanced corporate finance, financial management and financial accounting at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Vancouver Community College and The American University in Cairo.
Iman is currently working on a policy proposition deduced from her PhD thesis that presents a risk-return home-sharing financing model. This proposition received considerable positive feedback. It was shortlisted during stage one of the Housing Supply Challenge organized by the Government of Canada and received incubation funding from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
