Darlene McBride is the regional manager at the Vancouver office of the Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company of Canada, a niche specialty insurance market responsible for managing underwriting, sales and service for the province of B.C.
She brings over 25 years’ experience working with brokers, general lines insurers, managing general agents and risk inspection companies. She has also held positions in business development, operations, HR and marketing.
Darlene is a sought-after instructor with the B.C. chapter of the Insurance Institute and has been teaching since 2006. She was honoured as “Instructor of the Year” for the Insurance Institute in 2017. Darlene has been a co-facilitator at several Insurance Institute of Canada education events and is the speaker on behalf of the Insurance Institute for their Pro-Edge Technical Training seminars. She is also a faculty member at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, teaching risk management classes in their insurance program.
Darlene holds a Canadian Insurance Professional (CIP) designation in addition to a designation in Canadian Risk Management (CRM) and a RIMS Fellow (RF) designation. She has a general management diploma and a risk management diploma from Simon Fraser University. Darlene is also an associate member of the BC Risk & Insurance Management Association.
