Julia Payson

Instructor
Non-Profit Management

Julia Payson believes strongly in the movements non-profits get to be a part of. She also believes that non-profit leaders (who can all be leaders regardless of job title) have the unique opportunity to create change and strengthen people, communities and environments.

Julia started in non-profit work more than 20 years ago, and her career has taken her from local grassroots agencies to international emergency medical aid agencies. She currently leads the Vernon branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association and sits on the boards of the BC Non-Profit Housing Association and crown agency Community Living BC.

Julia has provided leadership and board training, as well as consulting services, over the last five years. She enjoys working with people on strengthening their critical non-profit organizations. Julia is also an online learner, as she has spent the past year working on her Chartered Housing Professional designation.

She looks forward to working with students to deepen their knowledge of the amazing non-profit sector.
