Stacey Matson (she/her/hers) is the author of four middle-grade novels with Scholastic Canada, the most recent of which is Finding Cooper (2019), a novel about a boy and his grandfather, who is possibly the infamous hijacker D.B. Cooper.

Stacey graduated in 2012 from the University of British Columbia with a master of arts in children’s literature. Her thesis became her first novel, A Year in the Life of a Total and Complete Genius, which was a Junior Library Guild Selection, a Snow Willow, MYRCA and Rocky Mountain book award nominee and the winner of the Chocolate Lily award. Stacey was also a Berton House Writer-in-Residence in 2016.

Stacey works as an educator with the Creative Writing for Children Society, is a literacy mentor with youth and teens at the Writers’ Exchange, and is one of the co-founders of Ink Well Vancouver, a children’s literature focused workshop community.
